Smoked herring

Herring (Clupea harengus) is fished in the North Atlantic Ocean with trawls or encircling nets. It is a pelagic fish, rich in omega-3, which acquires through smoking that unique flavor that allows it to be part of the products of the traditional cuisine.

Herring are cold-smoked and packed in tetrapak cartons or wooden boxes. They are especially prized for their exceptionally large size.
